At Caspian Coast Coffee, we believe the cup you hold tells a story before you take a sip. The beans matter. The roast matters. The relationship behind them matters most.
From Venice to the Mission District and Back
Sightglass Coffee was founded in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood in 2009 by brothers Jeremy and Jerad Morrison. Their approach — small-batch roasting, direct-trade sourcing, obsessive consistency — was exactly the ethos we were looking for. When we discovered their Los Angeles roasting operation, it felt like the universe was paying attention. Our espresso is roasted right here in LA, a few miles from Main Street, Venice.
What a Sightglass Bean Tastes Like
Sightglass roasts for balance — a medium profile that lets the origin character of each bean shine without burning off the nuance. For our espresso base, that means a cup that's naturally sweet, with clear stone fruit and a long, clean finish. It's a foundation that holds up beautifully under saffron, cardamom, and rosewater — our Persian spices don't compete with the coffee, they converse with it.
Why This Partnership Makes Sense for Venice
Venice has always been a place where craft and culture collide. Sightglass brings the same commitment to quality that defines the best of California's food culture — sustainability-minded sourcing, transparency about origin, and a genuine respect for the farmer. Those values align with everything Caspian Coast stands for: care at every step, from the soil to the cup to the guest across the counter.
A Cup That Connects Two Coasts
Every time you order an espresso, a saffron latte, or a cardamom cold brew at Caspian Coast, you're tasting a collaboration: Sightglass Coffee's craft, our Persian spice heritage, and the light and salt air of Venice, California. We're proud to serve their beans — and to be their only home on Main Street.
